I am looking for some detailed information on how to crate reporting for our location for specific needs, namely a full export of the database to a .mdb file that can be opened via access or some sort of csv file that is accessable from excel.  We want Altiris to replace the old and out of date database we have in access at present for inventory.

    Thank you.

Why not just run reports on the database, rather than trying to make a copy of a complex database. Even if you could copy the whole database you instantly end up with yet another out of date database for inventory.

As well as the Management Console, you can use IT Analytics to easily create your own reports, SQL Report Builder or the View Generator in SQL Server Management Studio.

You'll find full instructions on writing Altiris reports in the Symantec Management Platform User Guide.

A crash course on writing reports in SQL is here:

Note If you want to use the Advanced Report Builder in the 7.1 SP2 console you need MP1 installed.
