Image resources/packages not being deleted from Package Server

  • 1.  Image resources/packages not being deleted from Package Server

I have deleted image resources from "All Resources" section under "Image resource", corresponding deployment software packages from "All Resources" section under "Software Package", Images from under "Settings>All Settings>Deployment>Disk Images" section and actual image files from under "X:\Program Files\Altiris\Notification Server\NSCap\bin\Deployment\Packages\Images\" on NS, and corresponding "Deploy Image" tasks that were using these images from under the Console, but yet these packages remain on my Package Servers. Can somebody please throw some light on how to purge these packages from my Site Servers? They are very large files and are taking up lot of space. I urgently need to clean this up because I'm falling short of space on my servers.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,

according to https://support.symantec.com/en_US/article.HOWTO21731.html it should be deleted automatically, but it may not.

    Two things you can do:

    1) Create a script to be run on the Package Server which will delete the image

    2) The images are handled as packages. For package deletion there is a global setting for deleting unused packages from the package server. This is described also here: https://support.symantec.com/en_US/article.HOWTO7556.html This global settings needs to be aligned with you whole environment because this also affects any other package (even for patch management you could have a lof of packages).
