    Hello All,

In Altiris 7.1 how can i determine where images we have created are being stored and where Updates and Drivers are being stored?  We had an issue with a NAS device that crashed and it had a folder named Altiris.  I'm not sure it was actually ever used to store anything so I wanted to confirm where everything is pointing to.  Thanks for the help.

    Hi,

these things are handled as packages and you need to have a look for the package details. In the package tab you can find the path to files and in the package servers tab you see to which servers the package should be replicated.

Images: Settings --> All  Settings --> Deployment and Migration --> Disk Images

Drivers: Settings --> All Settings --> Deployment and Migration --> Drivers

Updates (I guess you mean PatchManagement?): central settings in Settings --> All Settings --> Software --> Patch Management --> Core Services

And of course you have the option to set the package settings for every software bulletin. These can you find in Manage --> All Resources in the default tree. For an easy way to see them you have to edit the Filter in den Default View and can have the checkbox for software bulletins marked and after this you can find them in the tree.

    Regards

Thanks so much for the help.  It appears that the Patches were going to this NAS that crashed.  If I point to a new location will it re-download the patches I have approved or is there something I have to do manually to get them in the new location?  Thanks again.

    Hi, follow this:

    1. Go to Core Settings page "Settings -> All Settings" "Settings -> Software -> Patch Management -> Core Services". Change "Software Update Packages Location" to the desired location - e.g. C:\updates.
Now all new packages will be downloaded to the specified location. However, existing packages will be left in the previously specified location. For the existing packages to move to the new location, You would have to
    2. Run "Check Package Integrity" task.
2.a. Go to Jobs and Tasks -> System Jobs And Tasks -> Software -> Patch Management -> Check Package Integrity
2.b. Select "Relocate Existing Packages" checkbox.
2.c. Run task - click "Run Now" in the task UI.

After the task is completed, existing packages should be relocated, and all new packages will be downloaded to the new location as well.

Maybe there will be some issues regarding the non existing packages. I guess you have than to download them again in patch dashboard.

While doing the steps have a look into log viewer to see what happens and what errors occur.
