  • 1.  IMAP Traffic via Explicit Proxy using PAC

    Hi All,

    Is it possiable to route the IMAP traffic via explicit proxy using PAC file ?? . We don't want to do any changes in client.

    Hi Sriram ,

    This is dependency between the IMAP client (i.e outlook) and PAC file , whether 

    1. is it PAC file aware or not (where it checks on IE settings if there is PAC file set or now)
    2. can it parse the PAC file script and make a decision out of it or not (i.e use the proxy or go direct)

    As its outside of Proxy/ASG's scope to there is no such config we can recommend from proxySG/ASG side for explicit deployment ,which will make the IMAP client proxy aware from a PAC script.  And answer of your question, It really varies on what IMAP client is used and what OS is used (i.e windows / MAC / Android / iOS etc)

    In my experience using outlook 2010 / 2013 / 2016 works just fine with PAC file in explicit deployment .
