  • 1.  Incorrect SSL cert causes Brightmail GW VM admin console to become unvailable

    Hello,

I'm in the midst of configuring the Brightmail gateway VM and have applied what might have been a bad SSL certificate.  Upon applying the custom cert I immediately lost web access to the administration console and now receive a "connection timed out" message via the web browser.  Restarting the VM and re-initializing the services has done no good.

Does anyone know how to remove the custom cert or revert the custom cert to the Symantec default so that I can regain access to the admin console?  I'd hate to think that a re-install of the VM would be necessary.

Scratch the inquiry.  It turns out that the ACL I set to limit who could access the console wasn't accepting my computer's IP address.  I was able to access the admin console from another machine I specified in the ACL.

Good to know that you resolved the issue, otherwise I was wondering why would a bad SSL cert not allow you to connect rather than just cause the browser to show some warning.
