Deployment and Imaging Group

I am using Deployment Solution 7.5 Sp1. I am unable to deploy Windows 8 or 8.1 with Initial Deployment. My Job contains following tasks.

1. Run Deploy Image
   1. Include Deploy Anywhere for hardware independent imaging. Checked
   2. Skip missing critical drivers. Checked
   3. Generate Sysprep configuration file using inventory data. Selected
   4. Username and Passwords are entered to Join Domain

1. Run Boot to Production
2. Run Apply System Configuration
   1. Gives Name to client in a range and Join Domain with DHCP option to obtain IP address (Working Properly with Windows 7 Initial Deployment)).
3. Run Update Client Configuration

Initial Deployment starts and Computer boot with PXE and obtain IP address and starts Deploy Image Task when Task completes its restart computer but never boot in Production and display a popup with information as “windows could not complete the installation to install windows on this computer restart installation”

Note: Same Job for Windows 7 Sp1 working fine without any problem.

Need help to resolve this problem.

Okay i think I know what your issue maybe, I spent around 2 weeks with support trying to figure out what i believe is the same issue.

It's because the default ram disk (scratch disk) size is 32mb, and by the time deploy Anywhere completes it's maxed out the ram disk.

The solution is to increase the size, in my case i increased mine to 256mb but 64mb should be enough.

On your server navigate to (Your Install drive):\Program Files\Altiris\Deployment\BDC\bootwiz\oem\DS\winpe and open with notepad "default.bdc"

Now you'll need to add : 

[Application]
RamDriveSize=256

Be sure to save :)

Now try deploying your image with deploy Anywhere checked,

I think its not related to ram disk because without changing any thing in default.bdc I am able to complete the task

The problem was that when I first time created the image of Windows 8/8.1 the default Local Administrator account on that system was disabled, so I recreated the Image after enabling the defaul Local Administrator and it worked and deploy Image using Initial Deployment Job.
