    I am installing Symantec on Vista machine and it  is rollback , No errors in the event viwer.
    Version SEP  11.0.4202.75

    Please go to start run and type %temp% and look for SEP _Inst.log

    search foe RETURN VALUE 3 and paste 5-6 lines before and after that

    Hi,

          Try  installing  liveupdate V3.5 to replace the original version and then try installing endpoint again. To get this version pls go to the following link.

    ftp://ftp.symantec.com/public/english_us_canada/liveupdate/3.5/

    sorry for being late in responding was bit busy todat. I got 

    LUCA: InstallLiveUpdate : CreateProcessAndWait( LUCHECK.EXE ) returned 206 in the logs
    after a bit of searching the knowleedge base i go this kb

    followed all the steps still no go. This  is my laptop am i don't have  any virus protection any help will be great

    Delete

    C:\program files\symantec\liveudpate

    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Symantec\LiveUpdate

    ChangeDCom permission:

    On the Windows taskbar, click Start > Run.

    Type the following:

    Restart the server.

    Installation of Symantec endpoint protection

    dcomcnfg.exe

    Click OK.

    Perform one of the following:

    In Windows 2003/XP, expand Component Services, and then expand Computers. Right-click My Computer, and click Properties. On the Default Properties tab, on the Default Impersonation Level menu, click Identify.

    In Windows 2000, on the Default Properties tab, on the Default Impersonation Level menu, click Identify.

    Click OK.
