There are few things that you want to check first.
    1. is the firewall on by any chance? you might want to try it without firewall.
    2. if your client is xp, open windows explorer, go to tools, folder options.
at the bottom, check whether "use simple filesharing" is unchecked. if it is checked, ghost remote client install will not work.
also there is a log file called rcilog.txt in c:\program files\symantec\ghost, this log file might give you more information why remote client installation failed.
    hope this helps. :)

Many thanks for the reply Ethan. I have sorted the problem now as i found out it was the username i was using. Now i can install the client to any machine BUT they do not show up on the console. I can place my test workstation next to my server and give it a static ip address and install the client and it will show up on the console, but when any machine is on another subnet they dont show up. So i have enabled igmp multicast on the switches but still no show of workstations on the console. Then i tried booting the machine on another subnet using the Ghost boot disk and setting up a session with GhostCast Server and this works a treat even though i dont see any workstations on the server console. So i have 2 problems. 1. Can install the client but unable to see the client on the console and 2. cannot send an image to the workstation unless i use the boot disc and set up a session. Any Ideas.
