The embedded DB can handle up to 5,000 clients. However, you may see better performance going with a remote SQL server DB to handle this.

Thanks Brian. How long will it take to do remote push of 2600 clients from SEPM

I couldn't say. It depends on your network bandwidth and location/segmentation of the clients.

You'll want to plan this properly, don't just do a remote push to all 2600 clients without some testing first and possibly get your network team involved to help out.

I've pushed out to a 1000 at a time but that was spread out over two weeks time period.

Brian it's a fresh installation of SEP clients. I intend to doit with via remote push to install from SEPM.

    The options here:

    https://www.symantec.com/docs/HOWTO80807

Personally, I'd go with a third party deployment option like SCCM or Altiris, if available.

Thank you very much Brian. So with a low band 4G internet connection, how long should it take to remotely deploy the 2600 clients remotely.

Again, I can't say for sure.Typically 4G handles 5-12 Mbp/s speeds. I'll tell you right now doing 2600 clients is not feasible even at a reduced package size. So what other options do you have?

Aside from anything else, there is a standalone tool you can run from local sites:

    https://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH195705

This may be your best option.

Thanks. I will look into the standalone tool.how long should that to deploy the 2600 clients? Also will the remote push to install be possible when spread over in weeks?

Depends on your network overhead. It may take a client 5-10 minutes to download the reduced package and that assumes there is no other overhead on your network. Best to work with your network team on this.

Probably closer to a month or so.

Agree , SCCM works nice and you can control which groups will receive the package.

How gb(size) do you need to create an instance of Microsoft SQL server database to handle 2600 SEPM clients?

Depends on more than just number of clients.

DB sizing best practices for 12.1 and 14 are a good place to start:
