Endpoint Protection

Hello,

 

we have a Windows Server 2003 SP2 with SEP 11 MR4 Management Console installed and working fine. We receive this error trying to install the client:

- Internal Error 2753. InstallAMS.dll.F4413C06_9100_4CCA_959E_AAC27B587C0D

On this server was installed SAV 11 CE Server with the System Center Console, the Reporting Server and the Alert Managemet Console: now this products are unistalled.

We did also the manual remove for the Symantec Antivirus Client 10 and for the AMS.

The Windows Server 2003 is a Domain Controller and has Terminal Services enabled, it have also Symantec Backup Exec 10d installed.

Please tell me a workaround to solve this problem asap. It is now a no-protected Terminal Server and this is a higher risk for us.

Check out this tool.  Needs to be run from the console of the system having the issue but the reports might give you a clue as to what the issue is.

hi,

got the same error massage as andrea - i moved the system center to another server and removed the system center from the old machine - after that trying to install the client i got the same error message for the installams.dll - i did the following already

- manual removement according to an symantec article

- searched the registry for the installams.dll & deleted all symantec related entries

- searched with regcure and removed the recognizable symantec files

but still i cant install the client...

does anybody have an idea

Well Yeah, This is probably it. In the add\remove, You will see the AMS installed. Now since SSC has already been uninstalled, It will give
"fatal error" when you try to uninstall it. Use http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301 to uninstall AMS and then try installing the SEP client again.

Andrea, 

Search for the key {DF65827B-E28C-4B27-A613-8D51421FD6FF} in registry

Delete all instances that you find for it. Try installing again.

 

by running the symantec-tools

1) cleanwipe 4.1 and

2) NoVAV 2.611

deletes all corrupted registry-entries (got the tools from symantec support center)

Hi

I have Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager 11.x. I have installed in server and deployed clients. I had problem in logon. So I have uninstalled client and manager.

Now I am trying to install again. But I am getting error
 
1. By autorun I am getting --->

    Unable to copy installation file (.\SEPM\SAV.XML ) to the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager application.

2. By setup.exe file inside the folder of SEPM, its asking me to repair or remove and after that I am getting the following --->

    errror 2753 Lucatalog.exe is not marked for installlation.

Can anyone try to solve this problem

Try to use cleanwipe.. It will uninstall all components and delete remaining files.
Then try to install SEPM.
