I was  reading an older forum and found some useful information.  The problem I am having is also on a Dell Optiplex but mine is a 320.  I have seen some people at the end are experiencing the same problems with the Optiplex 320.  The BSOD in intermittent.  I haven't seen it in 2 weeks now and I update defintions every day.  I have tried looking for new drivers but mine are up to date.  Any suggestions?  I am running on Win XP SP3 and SEP 11.0.5.

if you have network threat protection component installed; uninstall It
reboot the box and check the fequency of bsod
upgrading to MU6 should fix the isues.

Check the following article, this does not exactly say about BSOD but the Error Code is same which is "INVALID_WORK_QUEUE_ITEM BSOD with error 0x00000096". Could be helpful

Title: 'Random Reboots on Dell Optiplex 755 and Precision T3400 with Symantec Endpoint Protection 11.0.x installed. BugCheck: INVALID_WORK_QUEUE_ITEM (96)'

    To clarify,

Upgrading to RU6a is a good idea; it may very well fix your issue and is both an exccellent and necessary step, but there is no guarantee that it will fix the issue at this point.

Just trying to set expectations realistically.

    Hey Felix,

We had the same problem here with our 320s. I ended up reimaging them, that seemed to fix the BSODs. But, I am wondering if these boxes are sharing a printer? The main three boxes that we were having problems with, all shared a printer that was installed on one of the 320s that was bluescreening. Just a thought.
