I have Network Discovery turned on as well as inventory for network devices, in total I can see about 1800 printers. I also have the MIBs/SysobjectIDs entered and devices classified. They are all enabled too.
My issue is that Altiris is capturing different pieces of data on like printers. For example Xerox printers, I have a lot of 8560DNs and for some I can see the model and serial number (~30%); but for the majority that data is not populated. They all have the same sysobjectID.
Why does it capture things like Model and Serial number for some but not all? SNMP seems to be configured the same on the printers themselves.
I have read thru the posts about Network Discovery and am hoping to find someone who uses this solution effectively for printers as many of the threads have ended with no resolution.
