    Hi,

    I am writing as an e-mail system adminsitrator of Istanbul Technical University in Turkey.

    Our SMTP gateways blacklisted by Symantec Global Bad Sender Database.

    We are one of the big university in our country, we have thousands users, including student, academicians and officers. So the communication driven on e-mail system involves not just personal aspect but also involves the corporate side with other universities and companies.

    Since Symantec provides very qualified and trustful security platforms, many company and corporation protects their e-mail infrastructure by your products. However our smtp gateways get caught by your blacklist, this makes impossible the corporate communication of us through domains that uses Symantec products.

    So I kindly request that please mark our domain and IPs as a good sender. We have effort to cut the malicious and unsolicited email transactions. And also we have valid SPF and DKIM record in DNS tree.

    Hi ITU-IT,

    I reviewed your IPs and I did not find them listed on any Symantec Email Security.Cloud blocklist or system. I suspect you are refering to the Symantec Security Response spam landing page?

    If so, to obtain feedback on understand why an IP has bad reputation, you can contact our threat analysts directly in the form of email to get information on the cause and any actions we may recommend as remediation. This is done by sending all relevant information to the below email address.

    I was refering to IP Reputation Investigation page

    We did have negative reputation in this week but now it seems OK. I hope this problem won't arise again. I still keep on following your query pages both Symantec Security Response spam landing page and IP Reputation Investigation page. If it occurs again, I will contact your threat analysts.

    Hi, We recently move to a new server and we got a new IP. After the move we are having issues sending emails to some of our distributors because of the following error:

    host cluster3.eu.messagelabs.com [85.158.136.3]

        SMTP error from remote mail server after initial connection:

        501 Connection rejected by policy [7.7] 12315, please visit www.messagelabs.com/support for more details about this error message.

    Can you please help us unblcok us form your list?

    Maybe I will be able to have an answer here. I'm a service provider that offers email services.

    I'm keep getting listed on your IP reputation lookup but not anywhere else. 

    The IP of my email server is : 198.50.157.122

     

    As I told you, anywhere else this IP has a neutral reputation and not in any blacklists as you can see here: https://mxtoolbox.com/SuperTool.aspx?action=blacklist%3a198.50.157.122&run=toolpage

     

    My big question is why I'm listed in Symantec and how can I resolve this issue definitively? Some of my customers have issues to send emails to some companies and it's becoming a real problem.

    I've had this looked at and the reputation on this has been reset permenantly so you should not see further issues after a short propagation period.

    Can you check and if this resolved the problem mark this answer as resolved.

    Hi Support,

    i am running charity website from a VPS and VPS IP was marked as SPAM before i ordered. since jan (when i ordered the VPS), i contacted all relative blacklist operators and got the IP cleared. since then i never experienced any issues until last week when we emailed Thames Valley police, we received a bounce back stating mail was rejected.

    i need this IP whilelisted as there is no spam originating.

    IP address is: 94.100.26.9

    I am the IT administrator for Marina Media. We send daily emails to a Symantec users. Our IP address is: 199.15.213.55. Your system shows us 'neutral."

    Our sending management system tells us that you have blacklisted us. Here is the report:

    It looks like you have 2 seperate issues here. The 421 Service Temporarily Unavailable would not be generated by the listing on http://ipremoval.sms.symantec.com/lookup/.

    I'm getting the listing on http://ipremoval.sms.symantec.com/lookup/ looked into for you and will update you when I have a response.

    I'll look into the other issue for you now.

    I have now resolved the issue with the 421 Service Temporarily Unavailable error. Your IP was being throttled. I've now cleared the throttling.

    Once I get an update on the other issue I'll let you know.

    Hi There,

     

    I found our emails ip address x.x.x.x was blacklisted by Messagelab, because whenever we send email to messagelab recipient, we will recieve the following bounce back message, but ip address is not listed http://ipremoval.sms.symantec.com/lookup/. It has been happen more than 2 weeks, please help to delist our mail server ip address. Our ip address is clean and blacklisted by other RBL.

     

    x.x.x.x does not like recipient.
    Remote host said: 421 Service Temporarily Unavailable
    Giving up on x.x.x.x.
    I'm not going to try again; this message has been in the queue too long.

    I represent the IP administrator for Marina Media. Our IP addresses are listed below.  We check your database. We are not blacklisted, but our email sends are not getting though your secuity screen.

    Hi Erics

    Your issue is slightly different to what has been mentioned by others on this thread.

    Looking at the error this indicates that whichever client of ours it is you are trying to contact has chosen to put a block in place on either the senders address, domain or IP.

    As we allow our clients to configure their services to block or allow whatever they wish in order to resolve this issue you would need to liase with the clients you are trying to mail via another medium. It may be that it was a mistake on their part or they may genuinely wish to block those emails.

    If you were to email another client of ours I highly doubt you would get the same error. You can check by emailing me at ian_tiller@symantec.com as the Symantec domain uses the same scanning technologies.

    Hello,
    I am a email administrator for the Group Noctis https://noctis-collection.com/. This email server is at this domain name: send.solutions.
    I need to have my ip subnet 37.59.175.64/30 removed from the messagelabs.com blacklist.
    Is it possible to remove these ip addresses from this blacklist ?

    Hello,

    I'm an administrator of our web application, which has an email functionality so we've setup a smtp server using hmail server software. All the necessary requirements are met and only synmantec puts our smtp server on the blacklist.

    Hello I am a small email service provider and we have recently changed the IP address of our outbound smtp email to:

    82.163.78.15

    We are now getting all email rejected by you with the following style message.

    host cluster4.eu.messagelabs.com[x.x.x.x] refused to talk to me: 501 Connection rejected by policy [7.7] 3108, please visit www.messagelabs.com/support for more details about this error message.

    This server is brand new and clean.

    Please could you de-list this ip so our customers can send emails to your customers.

    This is affecting our business!

    I'm keep getting listed on your IP reputation lookup but not anywhere else.

    Few of my clients are not receiving my mails. When we contacted ISP, they replied with following details. If anyone can help.

    Hello,

    I'm an IT system integrator, I just upgrade one of my client from exchange 2003 to exchange 2016.

    Now since the upgrade i can send email to every body except pleople using the messagelabs.com service.

    I checked the IP reputation to confirm if anyting changed :

    The IP address you submitted, 46.140.111.164, does not have a negative reputation and therefore cannot be submitted for investigation.
    The IP address you submitted, 212.147.82.246, does not have a negative reputation and therefore cannot be submitted for investigation.
    To request investigation of an IP address, enter that address in the IP Address field provided below. Confirm the security image text in the Image Text field and click Submit.

    All emails send to people using messagelabs get delayed permanently, with no clear error message(see below) of why symantec is rejecting the message.
    However for one of the recepients that i contacted they did something on they're symantec and then i was able to send email to them.
     
    Can you tell me if I need to contact each symantec client (~20-50)  to who i need to send email to manualy and ask each one them to do the change or is there a more efficient way of doing this on you side or if you can provide more details (error codes or guidelines) so that i can comply to your special requirements ?
