  • 1.  IP blacklist Removal

    Hello,

     

    I am writting as Linakis Digital company's System Administrator.

    We have a mail server which cannot send mails to some domains (vodafone.com / minerva.com.gr) which use as SMTP cluster5.eu.messagelabs.com & cluster3.eu.messagelabs.com.

    Below is telnet outcome from this server.

    C:\>telnet cluster5.eu.messagelabs.com 25
    Connecting To cluster5.eu.messagelabs.com...Could not open connection to the host, on port 25: Connect failed

    C:\>telnet cluster3.eu.messagelabs.com 25
    Connecting To cluster3.eu.messagelabs.com...Could not open connection to the host, on port 25: Connect failed

    Note that from our other Mail server we can send emails and we can telnet on port 25.

    We also tried blacklist tool http://ipremoval.sms.symantec.com/lookup/  and we got response " The IP address you submitted, X.X.X.X, does not have a negative reputation and therefore cannot be submitted for investigation."

     

    Please advice and also inform us if there is a way to send you the Mail Server IP on some private message to further investigate.

    Hello,

     

    Please provide some update as we have major issue. Our clients cannot send emails to domains which use your SMTP servers.

    Hi

    Can you confirm the IP that you are connecting from? It may be the subject of throttling. If so once you provide your IP I can check and remove as necessary,

    Is it possible to send you the IP on a private message? I would not want to post my Mail Server's IP on public.

    Hi

    I recieved your PM and can confirm your IP was being throttled to the point where we would reject connections.

    I've now removed that throttling so you should not see any further issues with this moving forwards.

    Hello,

     

    First of all thank you for your prompt answer and actions. Secondly, can you confirm that my mail server's IP throttling has been totally removed?

    Though I can now telnet port 25 on most of your smtps, I still cannot to cluster3.eu.messagelabs.com for example. There may be more, just need to make sure.

    Hello again,

     

    After testing again, today i can also telnet to cluster3.eu.messagelabs.com smtp. So I assume that my server is on no throttling list.
