  • 1.  IPv6 configured machine's communication with SEPM

    Posted Dec 18, 2013 11:59 PM

    Hello Everybody,

    My questions about IPv6 are:

    1. Could SEPM be installed at IPv6 machine?

    2. Can a SEP installed machine configured with IPv6 communicate with SEPM running with IPv6 version?

    3. Can a SEP installed machine configured with IPv6 communicate with SEPM running with IPv4 version?

    4. Could a SEP installed machine configured with IPv6 & IPv4(dual stack) be able to communicate with SEPM(IPv6)?

    Please help.

Regarding the use of IPv6 in the general of the architecture, IPv6 is currently not supported for any communication between the different SEP components themselves.  All client - manager, console - manager, manager - manager traffic as well as LiveUpdate is all still based on IPv4.

It is planned to add IPv6 support for all components in the future, so that SEP can be used in pure IPv6 environments.
