    IT Management Suite 7.6 HF2 is available through SIM. The release has the following highlights:

    • TLS versions 1.1 and 1.2 are now supported in CEM communication,
    • Installation readiness checks added for upgrade to 7.6 HF2,
    • Updated versions of the Symantec Software Virtualization and Streaming agents are included,
    • Patch Management Solution for Linux now supports RHEL 7,
    • Support for SuSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES) 12, (http://www.symantec.com/docs/DOC8648)
    • Addressed 48 customer issues.

    I had issues with the upgrade of the Software Management Solution Plugin to HF2 (7.6.1505):

    1. The policy was enabled already.

    This normally mean it does not have a new GUID and did not (re-) run on the Notification Server. I had to start the task manually on the Server for it to upgrade the plugin.

    2. The Filter "Windows computers requiring Software Management Plug-in upgrade" is not targeting the correct version, so no client did update the plugin.

    AND   ( s.[Product Version] LIKE '7.0.%' OR                                --    SMSAgent 7.0

         s.[Product Version] LIKE '7.1.%' OR                         -- or SMSAgent 7.1

         s.[Product Version] LIKE '7.5.%' OR                         -- or SMSAgent 7.5

       (s.[Product Version] LIKE '7.6.%' AND s.[Build Number] < 1409) ) -- or SMSAgent 7.6   1505  

     

    it should be < 1505 ... the 1505 is only written in the comment.

    Symantec is aware of this issue and is currently working on solution.

    Please, hold on with the upgrade to HF2 and monitor this thread for updates.

    Not sure if this is relevant but I had a very similar issue to this.

    In our case upgrade policy would not run if it had previously run. A simple copy of the the policy to a new one will make it work OR, as in our case, simply change the schedule from "Run once ASAP" to an actual schedule will cause the plugin to upgrade.

    I haven't upgraded to HF2 yet but we had this issue when we upgraded to 7.6 and 7.6 HF1. This particular plugin was the only one that was affected. If it is the same issue I was told the fix would not make it into HF2 but would probably be in HF3.
