  • 1.  Is it possible to create a Remote Desktop via Right-Click on Altiris

Has anyone created a right-click item in Altiris to automatically launch MS Remote Desktop?  If you right click on a computer in a filter, there is a Connector Samples ->Ping, now is it possible to create an automatic RDP to the machine this way?

I've attached a ready "RDP" right click action .xml for ITMS 7.5, so you can import it in "User Defined" folder.

Note: Do not forget to install "Command Line Right-Click Action Certificate"

Where can I download the Client Registry file?  can I download directly from the one of the SMP servers folder?

    Igor,

will your RDP xml file work on 7.1? Also has anyone tried this for RealVNC viewer?

    Thanks

    mwysocki,

I don't have 7.1 to verify it, but I think that it should work in 7.1 as well as in 7.5, since there are in use same data classes which are in both NS releases. Just import .xml and try it for any windows managed clients on SMP Server via right click menu.

Well, I haven't tried for "Vnc viewer" but as far as I see, you can make a clone of this imported .xml on your NS server ⇒ modify "command line" to execute a vncviewer.exe with required cmd parameters and change current "Substitution parameter" from [Aex AC Identification].[Name] to [AeX AC TCPIP].[IP Address]. to use it as defined IPv4 Address to establish vncviewer connection to client machine.

    Thanks,

    IP.
