  • 1.  Is it possible to have an application whitelisted for DLP

    Posted Feb 08, 2017 09:04 AM

Today we can submit our application to Symantec to have it formally whitelisted against the Antivirus software...preventing the application for being blocked.

It appears we have an issue now with DLP, is there a mechanisim to have our application Whitelisted against DLP or is there a manual mechanisim to make this work

    thanks

The general description suggests you are running some sort of an issue with the application either getting in hang mode or some sort of a performance problem. Yes, getting a AV exception certainly is a good move.

Now, for DLP based Endpoint Exceptions, follow the article below:

    https://www.symantec.com/connect/articles/exclude-sep-agent-dlp-endpoint-agent-configuration

(it shows how to setup exceptions for SEP in DLP, however the process remains the same for other applications as well)

    Hello,

Besides not including that application in the Application File Access (as mentioned above) monitoring you may try to disable USB or Print channels for the users that used that application and are facing performance issues. You can achieve that using different Agent Groups to diferentiate "all users" from these users with "special needs".
