    Hello everyone

Just noticed this morning, Java v9 has been released. As I'm afraid banks and other online services still using Java will force my users to upgrade I was wondering if there is any word from Symantec about SEPM/client compatibility with it? Anyone knows anything about this?

    Thanks

SEP clients are not affected by this and don't require java. SEPM has java built-in and gets upgraded with newer releases.

Unless you're referring to something else?

The console has the java client built-in. It gets upgraded when a new release comes out. I don't believe it's recommended to manually upgrade it.

    I don't think so Brian.
Every Java update I have to change Console command line in shortcuts (currently it's "C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.8.0_144\bin\javaws.exe" -localfile -J-Djnlp.application.href=http://server:9090/servlet/JnlpServlet?osSF=false "C:\Users\adminname\AppData\LocalLow\Sun\Java\Deployment\cache\6.0\23\27e46117-32bc1f74") to make it work.

Just realized, you thought Console on the SEPM machine itself. Sorry.
No, I'm talking about Console on the remote machines (Web Console does not use Java for some time now, I think). My preffered way of connecting to SEPM.

Either way, I don't see anything from Symantec on this. Java 9 was just released so who knows how long it will be before info comes out. Best I can say is to test it out. Otherwise, engage support to get their thoughts.

    OK. Just thought to ask.
    Thanks Brian
