  • 1.  Job "Run Script" is executed but never completes

    WE've DS 6.9 SP5 MR1. First time ever now with this version we've now a few (7 computers with Windows 2008 R2 SP1 out of 60) now runs a job (with PING command) does not complete any more. So, the next job is waiting... forever.

    We uninstalled DAgent and installed again. Run the same job again and still does not complete. Any other jobs have the same issue on those servers.

    Please send details of the task so that we can try to test the same at our end . We have not observed any issue with runscript while working with DS 6.9 SP5 MR1, but it may be possible that for some specific task it is failing so could u please provide us more details on task ?

    Thanks for the quick reply.

    I'm attaching the the picture how it looks like. But when the issue occurs, it doesn't matter which script. It's happening for all scripts.

    Look at lines in your log file attached above

    [12/29/2011 22:01:18.701 27436 0] main.cpp:724 - Toolbox List is empty, exiting

    The above error states that dagent unable to load the dll's.

    check whether all .dll files are present under program files-> dagent folder .

    Also go to services.msc on client machine, double click on "Altiris agent deployment" service and check Path to executable feild .

    (path should be  "C:\Program Files\Altiris\Dagent\dagent.exe" -load=default.dll,config.dll,autoupdate.dll ").

    Hi Symdon,

    First of all: Happy New Year and the best wishes.

    We deploy the DAgent to "C:\Altiris\DAgent". This works on 95% of all other machines. However for testing I've removed the previous install and installed the DAgent again. Find below the string for the service:

    "C:\Program Files\Altiris\Dagent\dagent.exe" -load=default.dll,config.dll,autoupdate.dll

    The files are available and registry looks fine. Still the error...

    Did you find a solution for this?  I just started seeing this issue (DS 6.9SP4) with the exact same symptoms.  DAgent seems to become unresponsive immediately after recieving the script file.  Executing rxscript.bat manually works fine.  Prior to the run script task, DAgent responds to inventory requests, power control requests, etc., but hangs after receiving rxscript.bat and prior to executing it.

    I also verified  that the .dll files are present and there are no other obvious issues.  It is a wierd one for sure.
