  • 1.  Latest Manager Version: Information is currently unavailable

    Hi All .

    My SEPM console only ever displays what the latest symantec version and never shows the latest Manager Version. I have no idea why this is the case.

    Live update seems to be working ok.

    Any ideas?

    Hi,

    to be sure that SEPM is downloading the definitions you should look here:
    SEPM console > admin > servers > local site > show liveupdate downloads, what do you read in the table of downloads? Does it look up-to-date?

    I think clwoody is talking about the two fields SEPM > Home > Virus Definitions Distribution > Latest Symantec Version and Latest Manager Version, not about the product version.

    I don't see the Antivirus definitions in the table... this the reason because you cannot see them in the Home panel.

    Maybe the LiveUpdate catalog or the SEPM installation is damaged.

    0) If it is a very fresh installation, just wait some hours
    1) reinstall LiveUpdate without saving the catalog but re-creating it:

    2) repair SEPM from add/remove programs

    If the clients are already up-to-date, it means that they are taking the definitions from another source.

    Thanks Giuseppe.

    I followed your instruictions but Live update seems to still fail. The server that is the SEPM has port 21 open for FTP to internet. The install is quite new, only 1 week.

    I can see in the screen shot below that the AV updates failed. I cant work out what going on. SEP has caused me so many issues this week, its very depressing!

    Hi,

    I think your installation is seriously damaged, maybe you did something wrong to resolve one of the issues you met in this week:

    I guess the keys:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Symantec\SharedDefs\SymcData-sesmvirdef32
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Symantec\SharedDefs\SymcData-sesmvirdef64
    are not pointing to:
    %programfiles%\common files\Symantec Shared\SymcData\sesmvirdef32
    %programfiles%\common files\Symantec Shared\SymcData\sesmvirdef64

    Try to fix them by typing the full path.

    Call the support if you still need help.

    Hi Giuseppe - i came into work this morning and found that all my defs & info in SEPM was up to date!

    The last thing i did on friday last week was to re-install LU and re-register again.

    Im not entirely sure whats been going on but i am glad its updating although a little worried !

    we shall close this subject for now, but thanks for your help and patience!
