The latest version of SEP client can't get update from GUP

  • 1.  The latest version of SEP client can't get update from GUP

    Hello !

     

    I have a vlan in our network with limited acces. SEP Server is accessible by port 80, GUP accessible by port 2967.
     
    SEP client version   12.1.1101.401 is updating successfull but the version of 12.1.2015.2015 - not updated.
     
    What is the problem ? What is different ?

    Hello,

    Could you please upload us the sylink.log from the SEP 12.1.2015.2015 client machine?

    How to enable Sylink debugging for the Symantec Endpoint Protection 11.x and 12.1 client in the Windows Registry

    Secondly, make sure the GUP and SEPM are of the same SEP 12.1.2015.2015 version.

    You can enable sylink logging on the affected client and post the log here for review. Let it run thru a few heartbeats so all the necessary info will be in the file.

    ASFAIK gup and client should be of same version.

    Client is green on SEP Server and connected to server. I will make a sylink log and try to understand...

    Hello,

    SEP 12.1 RU2 client which is not updating the definitions is the same client as of the SEPM server?

    If yes, try restarting the SEPM server machine.

    Hi,

    This problem is with single SEP 12.1 RU2 client or with all the clients?

    If it's all the clients then problem might be at SEPM end.

    If it's a single client then pass on the Sylink.log from affected machine.

    That is the problem for that vlan only... in the other networks - no problem.

    Hi,

    Can you compare the access level & default gateway of affected VLAN compared to other VLAN's.

    Also pass on Sylink.log from affected machine to find out possible root cause. Logs can give fruitful information.

    I have checked sylink.log - Nothing special

    May be that ?

    But all previous versions do updates without any problem.

    Hi,

    Provided logs are not giving any fruitful information.

    Could you please attach entire Sylink monitor logs.

    Restart the sep service manually while capturing the logs so that it can show how the initiated connection attempting to start communication.

    Capture the logs for to 10-15 minutes minimum.

    Hi,

    GUP and clients in version 2015? didnt upgrade?
     

    Clients on 12.1.1101.401 upgrade as well.

     

    Ur SEPM is on 2015.2015 right?

    Send a Sylink Monitor of GUP
