  • 1.  "Launch Automated Action" Notification Policy Action - HELP

    Posted Mar 14, 2011 12:59 PM

I am working on NS 6 SP3. I want to execute "program 2" on a machine when "program 1" fails. I have email automated action policies set up and working, but am having trouble with the launch automted action policy.

Can someone point me to a quick primer on this subject please?

SP13 is the current release.  Are you actually running SP3?

Do you have more details, such as the operating system of the machine you're attempting to run the task, what program 2 and program 1 are, etc?

Sorry, it is SP13 (6.0.6074). I am running a task to install Citrix Web Plugin. This is program 1. Ths install runs and is successful 99.9% of the time. For some reason, the installtion is reporting as failed about 10% of the time. That is, out of 100 machines that reported a failure of the install, only one machine in fact experienced a failure. I want to run a task to either re-run the install, or at least check the version, on all machines that reported failure.

I run the install at 08:30pm EST. I would like to create a notification policy that runs after this to perform clean-up and/or reporting.

That makes sense.  I admit my NS6 regarding notification policies is rusty.  Perhaps someone else can assist with creating a notification policy to provide you with the report?

I have a report that displays the machines that reported failures. I woul like to take that report, and perform actions based on the machines listed on the report.

Not sure if this is possible, but it would be very helpful.
