  • 1.  Lenovo Thinkpad boots to black screen, bootguard and flashing cursor

    Hello,

    I recently receive a laptop back from a contract worker when her contract was not renewed.

    When I booted up her laptop to reimage it, all I see is a black screen with the word bootguard on the top left, and a flashing cursor.

    there are no recovery disks on site. What are my options? I cannot wipe or reimage at this point, it's just a brick

    You can always wipe any machine, encrypted disks or not.  Just boot to a Windows CD, delete any partitions and start again.  Even a PXE boot would work.

    Just be aware that doing so means that anything on the disk is gone and irretrievable.
