  • 1.  Licensing Questions - SEP 11

    Posted Jan 22, 2010 02:40 PM
    Hi,

I just ordered 75x SEP 11.0 licenses since I'm very dissapointed with my current server client security solution. Even though I already ordered them I still have two questions.
    1. Does the Management Console require a special license?
    2. On the bill it says: "User Licenses" - If I have 5 users working on the same workstation during the day, does each of them consumes one license?
    Thanks in advance
    Sepp

    SEP 11 does not require license... It's a "trust-based" product... ; ) .. Check this...

The management server does not require a special license.

Each workstation that the SEP is installed on counts as 1 license, no matter how many people use it.

Symantec does not require a software license file like SAV CE did. or even SEP 12.x does.
Since SEP11 is enterprise product so licensing is just paperwork.

License are per Client ( Computer ) and not per user.
