Linux Agents not Appearing Correctly in Symantec Management Console 7.1

    Hello,

I have installed the Linux management agent via boostrap installer on a SLED 11 SP1 machine. The agent appears to be running correctly and I can do various commands on the local machine without any problems.

When the client machine is discovered on the management console under Actions > Discover > Import Domain Membership/WINS it appears under Manage > Computers but does not show up as having the agent installed. When I send inventory from the client machine a second entry for the client appears in Manage > Computers which shows the agent being installed, but does not show as being connected to the domain, even though the client machine is logged into the domain, forward and reverse dns function correctly, and the Active Directory server contains the client machine in the DNS and DHCP entries for the domain.

I this have two copies of the client in Manage > Computers. One without the Agent, and one without the domain.

Now for the real problem. When I try to quick run ANY tasks under Manage > Jobs and Tasks > System Jobs and Tasks > Notification Server, the client does not appear in the Quick Run dialog, and cannot be added under scheduling.

My questions is, how do I get a Linux computer (specifically SLED11 SP1 in this case) to be discovered correctly by Symantec Management Agent 7.1, and how do I get it to populate the Quick Run dialog?

    Thanks!
