  • 1.  Live Updates issue

I am using Norton Anti Virus 2006 but up to date with subscriptions and have 202 days left on subscription.

At Norton Protection Centre security basics has a red cross and says urgent attention is required.

When I click this it takes me to live updates. I am being told that I need live updates to get latest virus definitions.

When I download live updates I get this message  on completion:

    Connecting to liveupdate.symantecliveupdate.com...

Downloading catalog file (1 of 5), complete.

    Opening update list

The digital signature found on the catalog file has been signed by Symantec Corporation.

    Processing update list

Downloading catalog file (2 of 5), product up-to-date.

Downloading catalog file (3 of 5), product up-to-date.

Downloading catalog file (4 of 5), product up-to-date.

Downloading catalog file (5 of 5), product up-to-date.

All of the Symantec products installed on your computer are currently up-to-date. Remember to check for new updates frequently.

    LiveUpdate session is complete.

This does not remove the red cross and the message ‘requires urgent attention.’

    Any comments welcome

You will probably want to post in the Norton forums found here: http://community.norton.com/. This is for Symantec Endpoint Protection which is a completely separate product designed specifically for business environments.

Sorry about the confusion between the two ;)
