Endpoint Protection

I am running LiveUpdate Administrator 2.2.2.9 on a seperate server from the SEPM. 

I have configred my downloads and distributions the way that I want them done, and it appears that they are doing their job.

But appearances can be decieving.

When I try to download all SEPM updates, the download failed after 2 hours
When I try to download all SEPM virus definiitons, the download failed after 3 hours.
When I try to download SESM "Virus Definitions Win32 v11 v2" the download is currently showing as "Retreiving updates" but each status is marked as either "failed" or "skipped"

I have cleaned out the TempDownload directory, the production and test distribution directories, rebooted the services and the server...  And nothing is working.
I have checked and my Java Version is 6.18.

How can I clear this up?

Also, in addition, I have 2 scheduled downloads that are stuck in "Cancelling" mode and I can't get them out. 

Previous posts about this topic have gone unsolved...  Please help!

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Symantec\LiveUpdate Administrator\Downloads
C:\Program Files\Symantec\LiveUpdate Administrator\clu-prod

All contents of these folder and try downloading again

Collect troubleshooting logs as they might lead you to solution

I emptied the downloads directory and production directories. 

I checked the logs that the debug tool gave me... the logs were either empty or were of no use for the current problems I'm having.

Please advise further.

Do you find anything useful in

This is the only live I found useful, but I don't know what it means...

I am removing the Microsoft Internet Explorer Enchanced Security tool from the server to try again.  Can you please advise further?

EDIT: After removing the IE tool, the Download still failed 2 minutes in.  I'm manually cancelling the job.

I think it is better to reinstall LUA.It will not take much time..
Pls assure that your Internet connection is stable.. 

Thanks Aravind.  I uninstalled LUA, rebooted, downloaded, and installed LUA.

I'm still failing to download.

Do you have any internet connectivity issue on this server ? Any Proxy Server ?
add http://liveupdate.symantecliveupdate.com to trusted websites in IE.

I do have a proxy.  The proxy and firewall logs show no blocking of Symantec or Akami domains.  The server is able to reach the Symantec LiveUpdate host servers.

I have no internet connectivity issues on this server.

I have just added liveupdate.symantecliveupdate.com and liveupdate.symantec.com to the trusted sites.

I will try again.


EDIT: After a fresh install, my LiveUpdate log is littered with the following line:
"2010-02-11 10:08:56,406 [pool-3-thread-6] ERROR com.symantec.lua.util.rcl.HttpHelper  - Fatal transport error in download: Connection reset"

 EDIT 2:
I also recieve the following Description in the LUA Event Log:
"Failed to download file 1263898196jtun_nav2k8ennful25.m25 while processing request id 1."

I added the domains to the Trusted Sites of IE and the downloads are still failing.

Does your Network Firewall has Content scanning ability ?? If yes then that might be causing this failure.

It appears that I do have a network connectivity issue as the download times out at 33%.  I'll contact my networking team to investigate and try again and update this forum.

Your test download showed a severe switch/port problem.  It was hardware related and not software related.  Thanks for your help.
