  • 1.  Logical management solution for having multiple clients with SEP SBE?

    Posted Aug 10, 2016 10:37 AM

I have had an ongoing issue where I can't find a solution for backend management of subscriptions. I currently have over 50 clients on SEP SBE, and the most ridiculous thing is that all the licenses are pooled. Because of this, 1 subscription with 15 licenses may expire and that can affect ANY of my clients, so the actual company with the subscription could be just fine while another client is complaining they have notifications popping up on their system.

Is there any way to link licenses/subscriptions with groups? This would be the smartest thing, so that only that group is affected

Does anyone else experience this or have a good solution? Right now I simply have a spreadsheet with names, license information, and expiration dates. Still, the issue I mentioned above with the terrible pooled license setup is plaguing me. I have 1 subscription with 40 licenses that is expiring, I haven't been given the new information yet, and I would simply remove the computers except that would generate a ton more work having to reinstall everything. (not as easy as just pushing out from the server).

    Thanks in advance

    Hi,

Thank you for posting your query on Symantec community & would be glad to answer your query.

    Q. Is there any way to link licenses/subscriptions with groups? This would be the smartest thing, so that only that group is affected

--> It's not possible to link license/subsciptions with groups. You should use partner management console. Partners/Resellers of SEP SBE .Cloud using the Partner Management Console (or PMC which is available at https://manage.symanteccloud.com) have a variety of options available for managing customers linked with their PMC, this document will clarify the purpose of the various options and their effects.

How to manage customers and their products in the Partner Management Console

Is there a reason why my login that I normally use doesn't work for the partner portal, even though I'm a Symantec partner?
