    Hi

I'm trying to use LoginW.exe in ITMS 8.0 HF4. Creating admin.pwl file and mapping drives using the .pwl file also works.

The problem is now that i need this admin.pwl file to be located at my x:\ in WinPE 10...

I have found an older guide to fix this for DS 7.1 (https://www.symantec.com/connect/articles/tools-and-utilities-deployment-solution-71), but it doesn't work in ITMS 8.0 HF4.

So any help or ditrctions are welcome :-)

    Hi Peter,

You need to copy the .pwl File to the following location on your SMP Server:

    • C:\Program Files\Altiris\Deployment\BDC\bootwiz\oem\DS\winpe\x64\Base (for WinPE x64)
    • C:\Program Files\Altiris\Deployment\BDC\bootwiz\oem\DS\winpe\x86\Base (for WinPE x86)

After copying the .pwl File to the location above please run the following Scheduled Task on your SMP Server:

    • NS.Package Distribution Point Update Schedule
    • NS.Package Refresh
    • NS.Package Server Status Event Cature

Your .pwl File should now be part of the BDC Package (wait for the Package to download...)

After the BDC Package is "ready" recreate your Preboot Environment (Settings -> Mange Preboot Configurations / select the "right" Preboot Environment and select "Recreate Preboot Environment".

In 2012 I wrote a Connect Article about: How to Securely Map a Drive in WinPE for Deployment Server 7.1.

I will update the Article in the comming weeks for DS 8.0 with detailed step by step instructions...

    Hi Network23

Thx for updating info. Package server schedules did the trick, now my pwl file is now included in WinPE .

Looking forward to se a version 8.0 of your LoginW guide :-)
