Our Environment is currently at SEP 12.1 RU 2 MP 2. We are in the process of migrating from SEP 11 to SEP 12. I was just made aware of the following issues.

    1. Users are running and applicaiton and it seems to drop out all of a sudden, then evenutally come back.

    2. The applications are 3rd Party

    3. We currnetly have our SQL Servers on SEP 12 and other App Servers on SEP 11

    4. We have shortcuts on the Desktops and they grey out or have a cross through them.

    Please look at the Attachment.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. I will follow up with Symantec on this, but I want to get some feedback before I do.

    All Clients have AV/NTP(Without FW)PTP.

We also have a large number of Exceptions in our Policy.

Have tested only using the AV component. I'm not suggesting to disable, I just want to test to narrow it down to one specific component.

Also, 12.1 RU3 is the latest, were you able to test this version?

Check the network threat protection logs on the client interface. Does it drop any?

    Hi,

Thank you for posting in Symantec community.

Are you directly upgrading from SEP 11.x to SEP 12.1 RU2 MP1?

These are the SEP 12.1 releases & their version code.

    SEP EE 12.1.x

      Release date (English)

     RTM

     12.1.671.4971

     Jul 2011

     RU1

     12.1.1000.157  Nov 2011
     RU1 MP1

     12.1.1101.401

     May 2012

     RU2

     12.1.2015.2015

     Nov 2012

I would suggest to upgrade to the latest version of SEP, SEP 12.1 RU3 is the latest version of SEP.

I am going to invetigate the user side now. I will check NTP Logs to see if I notice anything. Currently we are not upgrading to RU3.
