    Hello,

Two from our company computers, both running Windows XP Pro SP3, get the following error message:

    It says:

    "LuCallbackProxy.exe - Application Error

The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000142). Click on OK to terminate the application."

This message appears when LiveUpdate tries to receive the new updates. We have already tried to add the website (from which the updates are being received) to the trusted sites, re-install Symantec Endpoint Protection, re-install LiveUpdate and even install the latest .net Framework. All of these haven't solved the problem so far.

We would really like to know, how we can solve the problem which is causing this message to appear. As the Endpoint Protection isn't working properly anymore because of this.

    Thanks in advance.

Can you tell us what version of SEP is installed on these systems? If this is happening on a current build,  you might consider opening a case with support. If LuCallbackProxy is crashing, it should generate a crash dump, so be prepared to provide the dump to the support engineers for anaylysis.

Moving this thread to the Endpoint Protection forum for better visibility.

    Best,

    Thomas

    Hello,

What version of SEP are you carrying on your machines??

I would suggest you to try the steps provided in the Article:

How to Uninstall and Reinstall LiveUpdate When a Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager or Symantec Endpoint Protection Client is Installed

    http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH102609

If that does not help, then you may have to Uninstall SEP along with Liveupdate and ReInstall it again.

    Hope that helps!!
