So I have an issue where I'd like to create a "Safe Zone" on a MAC running SEP 12.1.6 MP6. I'd like it so that anything in that folder/directory/safe zone is left alone (Ignore and Log Only) during any scan process. I found this article from 2010:

    https://www.symantec.com/connect/forums/sep-macos-x-problems-preserving-client-created-folder-exclusions

But I was wondering if anything had improved on this front since then. I thought I had it working in the past, but I keep getting calls that the local exceptions are being overwritten by the server, and the server exceptions don't seem to function as expected. Any thoughts? Is SEP 14 any better at this then SEP 12.1?

    Thanks,
    -Mike

I believe Macs allow user to add their own and there isn't an option to lock this down really. I guess I'd focus as to why the exception policy doesnt appear to be working correctly.

    This is what 14 allows:
