Endpoint Protection

I Just upgraded to 12.1 RU1 on Windows server 2003 SP2. I then created a new package to roll out I created a save package just to test. The pc I tried upgrading is XP SP3 when I run the install I select Managed Client and get the following error. To install a managed client the admin must create a managed installation package......to create this you must use the client installation wizard in the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager.

Does anyone have and documentation they can point me to I'm note sure if the package I orginally created was a managed client package or If I'm missing something else.

Are you sure you created a new package??

Because this Message comes only after you Migrate the SEPM 12.1 and immediately it asks you whether you want to contuinue with deploying packages. You select to move on directly deploying the package via Deployment Wizard and then, it asks you whether you want to create a Managed Package or Unmanaged Package??

I would not suggest you following that path. Instead, you can login to the SEPM and use the articles to assist you creating and deploying the package properly without any issues.

Thanks for the responses. I ended up just uninstalling the mgr and reinstalling the mgr and that worked.I'm now able to roll out the new package with no issues.
