I have a user who was setup as a managed client on Endpoint Protection11.x.x, but he travels a lot and is not getting the LiveUpdates when away from the office.  Is there a way to reconfigure his client to pull the updates from an FTP site?

    Thanks.

This is possible, here is the document for configuring it.

Title: 'How to configure mobile computers to automatically download virus definitions when disconnected from the Symantec Endpoint Protection Management console'

    Document ID: 2008040214442248

put this/these clients in a different group in SEPM
    Add a new liveupdate policy
and in the liveupdate policy -For Servers Select both options for liveupdate
-Default liveupdate Server ( SEPM )
    -Symantec Liveupdate server.

then setup a schedule for liveupdate

While this may work, it has the unintended side effect of having clients go to the internet to get updates when they can still connect to the SEPM. Location based policies are a much better solution for this.

Thanks for the input.  I will give these a try and report back.
