  • 1.  Manual/Cleanwipe uninstall of SEP blocks usb-network traffic (XP)

    Greetings

I have a problem with Manual uninstallation (registry cleaning) or using the latest Cleanwipe provided by symantec fileshare. While Cleanwipe cleans Vista operating systems fairly well (after running it twice, first run doesn't erase teefer2), manual uninstallation or Cleanwipe still leaves lots of features in the operating system. I can return network functionality by reinstalling the network drivers, but I cannot locate the reason why usb-adapters like 3G-modems are still blocked. Any help on that? A solution would mean I don't have to reinstall operating systems on +twenty machines :P

    -Vesa-

Ps. To explain things further, i must uninstall the software manually since all the SEP installations have an admin password which was never provided to us. Killing the msiexec doesn't work after the update :/

yes, if you are running MU5 killing msiexec.exe does not work
    try this
    start-run-ncpa.cpl
right click local area connection - select properties.
check for teefer2 driver, if found please uninstall, this should allow the modems..

Removal of the Symantec Endpoint Protection client from a machine results in loss of network connectivity.

That teefer2 is only visible on the device manager.

And yes , eventlog says "Remote Access Connection Manager failed to start because it could not create buffers. Restart the computer. Access is denied".

Oh geez, even the link says to repair install OS :/  , all that for just a defecting usb-network

Are you able to remove from device manager ?
Never use cleanwipe until and unless its necessary :)
hope it gets removed and you have your things back. :)
