PGP Desktop fails to decrypt encrypted messages. The PGP Log error message is:

MAPI Proxy: Decryption failed with error: required public key not found

I have reimported the relevant public key, signed it, activated it, set my Trust to Implicit, cached my passphrase, downloaded the relevant public key from pgp.keyserver.com and re-imported it. None of these things has fixed the problem, and I consistently get the same error message every time PGP Desktop tries to decode a message.

Based on the error message, I am guessing that the sender is not encrypting an email to your public key. You may want to compare the public key with your communication partner first. You can check the key id of your public key from the PGP Desktop and then check whether it matches with the public key id with which a sender is trying to encrypt the message.

If you have already checked it, then we would need to further investigate the issue. For that, you can activate the debug logging on the client and then reproduce the problem. Then please attach the log file in the thread.

Here is the KB article regarding how to activate debug on the client.

Make sure the public key being used is the one its looking for.  You can verify this on the Key ID
