  • 1.  Migrating Win2k Server to Windows 2003 Enterprise server

    Is it possible to use GSS to migrate: FROM A Compaq Server running Win2K Server SP4 TO AN IBM Xseries Server running Windows 2003 Enterprise Server?
     
    The server is our main File/Print server with about 275 GiG of user data.  We are mostly concerned about file permission etc.
     
    Any ideas?

    The migration feature of GSS hasn't been designed to run on server platforms and hence they are unsupported. Windows 2K professional is supported as a client but Windows 2K Server is not.
     
    To be honest it might still work on Windows 2K Server as the differences are small but Windows 2003 hasn't been tested for migration packages. But it is an unsupported migration path.
