    Hey guys

I got a customer who is migration his system from SBS 2003 to SBS 2011. Currently Symantec EndPoint Protection V12 is installed on SBS 2003.

I was wondering how do we migrate Symantec EndPoint Protection from one server to another?

    Thanks a lot

    Al

    Hi Al,

Do you mean that they are performing an upgarde on SBS 2003 to SBS 2011, or that the customer is decommissioning their old SBS box and replacing it with a new SBS 2011 server?

(I cannot imagine that hardware from a SBS 2003 box would be able to support SBS 2011... even if it could, that old server would be incredibly slow and unreliable....)

It is possible to move the SEPM from the existing server to the new one.

    Hello,

    I completely favour Mick's Suggestion.

I am Assuming, you will be keeping the host name and Ip address the same.

I would say, since you are carrying SEP 12.1, follow the Disaster Recovery Article:

    http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH160736

    That surely may help you!!

    Hey Mick and Mithun
Sorry if I didn’t make my question clear. Yes you are correct, they decommissioning their old SBS box and replacing it with a new SBS 2011 server.

Thanks for the articles, I will go through them and see how we go.

    Kind regards
