  • 1.  Moving existing SEPM 12 to server 2012- client not connecting

    Posted Jun 23, 2017 06:28 AM

To be able to upgrade to SEPM 14, I am moving my existing SEPM 12 to another server with windows 2012. Using the management server configuration wizard, I chose option use a recovery file to restore communication with previously deployed clients. No client is connecting to the SEPM, I have set same IP as previous Windows 2003 server. When I click on Admin> Local site, I see unexpected server error.

How can I proceed? I even  have a backup of the previous SEPM12. Thanks to help

If you check the scm-server-0.log file are there any error messages showing?

If you're keeping same hostname/IP you can run the DR procedure, see here:

Thanks Brian. I restored the database and the clients are conecting now. I will leave it on test just to ensure the clients are updating. I followed part Perform disaster recovery>If you have a database backup to restore [https://support.symantec.com/en_US/article.TECH160736.html]
