Hi, I need to change my SEPM to another Server that is goint to have the same IP and name.
The SQL database is stored in a diferent Server, so I would like to use the existing database.

What is the best practice for this?

    Thanks!

I would always recommend backing up the DB before making any changes to the server(s).

    Hi Cycletech,

I've read the Disaster Recovery procedure, but they talk about the "database restore" (with or without a database backup), do I have to do the database restore even if it is in a diferent server?

    Regards!

    Hi again,

I'm doing some changes in my post and it should be like this:

I've read the Disaster Recovery procedure, AND they talk about "database restore" (with or without a database backup).

As I said before, my database is stored in a diferent server (SQL Server 2005).
I'm thinking that I don't have to do a restore database, or am I wrong and I need to do the restore?

    Regards!

no need, while you configure the server you need to point to the SQL server , since the SQL server IP have not changed, it can still hold good.
