    Hello:

I am preparing to move Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager to a new server because of a lack of disk space. However, the current version is 11.0.3001.2224 and due to the disk space contraints I cannot upgrade before the move. I don't have the original version software and was wondering if it still available on the site for download. Thnak you.

Send me a PM with your email address, for some reason the system will not let me send you a PM.  I will provide a download location for the MR3 build.

What you can do in this case Install the new version and replace the sylink on the clients and the clients will commuincate with the new SEPM

Move SEPM form one server to another with the same ip address

Thank you for the kink, Thomas. It appears that version 11.0.3001.2224 is not supported on Windows 2008 R2 Server 64-bit. Is this correct?

First you will need to upgrade the Existing SEPM to SEP 11.0.5002.xx
Then follow the procedure given in the document.
    As SEPM Mr5 11.0.5002.xx is supported on 2008 R2

If the existing server is going away, you can sqeeze some temporary diskspace to do the upgrade by shrinking the pagefile, deleting the hotfix backups, delete the servicepackfiles folder in the Windows folder, and some other stuff.  CCleaner could help there as well.  Of course, only do these things if this Windows install is not sticking around for much longer and you still have a backup.

Thanks all. I was able to get just enough space to upgrade. Am replicating now.

It sounds like you were able to move the server by "replicating" it.
If that is the case, then to move the clients over the best would be to assign them a new Mangement Server List Policy that points to the new SEPM server. Then, keep the old one running as long as you can to make sure all the clients switch over to the new SEPM server.
Oh, by the way, the best is to set the policy on the new server and then launch a replication to replicate the policy in.

Another thing you can do to save Disk Space is reduce the number of Live Updates the server remembers. Live Updates can take gigabytes of space! I'm not near a server (other wise I would be tempted to post a screen shot), but the setting is under Admin --> Servers --> (Click on the local site) --> Site Properties.
