  • 1.  Mulitple entries in SQL DB?

    Posted Aug 26, 2009 11:54 AM
    Hello all,

We're running SEP 11.0.4 with an external SQL database.  My DBA informs me that we've got a handful of machines with multiple entries.  We found this when looking for information on a server that had been rebuilt from scratch and was reporting wrong in a home-grown reporting program.

We've run the dbvalidator tool which comes back fine.  Is there a tool we can use to remove the extra entries?

    Thanks.

Are you using  LDAP sync and user mode ?

If you are not using SEP MR4Mp2 then upgrade to  it as This problem is fixed in Symantec Endpoint Protection 11.0 MR4 MP2

SEPM contains duplicated clients when using LDAP sync and user mode.

How was the duplicated entries created? I saw the similar issues as well from the management console. I use User Mode configuration and running the latest version of SEP 11.0.4202.75. both entries has same Name, same logon client, same IP address, etc except Unique ID, I was wondering this duplicated entry was created?

dupliceat entries created on the bases of hardwear key

If u have m/c which is already register in SEPm DB and u change any hardwear like LAN card it will creat new hardwear key for that M/c and creats one more fresh entry in SEPM DB which reflects in console

Hi all, sorry it took me so long to get back.

@Prachand, we're running in computer mode and I've got my Directory Sever set up as a type of Active Directory, not LDAP.  Will upgrading still fix this?

    Thanks.

It should work as both of them are Directory servers
