  • 1.  Multiple Search in SEPM

    Posted Dec 01, 2014 07:45 AM

    1. When a search is done using Computer name.. Im able to get the result

    2. When a search is done using a 2nd computer name.. I still get the result

    3. When I search both in one attempt, the result is cannot find...

Why? Is this is the behaviour of SEPM?

Note: I have tried Computer name in the first row and then used IP to search in the 2nd row...

    **Confused**

Expected result/behaviour. It's always been like this.

If I do a search on a specific PC name and IP as second criteria, I get my expected result.

It won't return a result if you select the same crtieria. Ex. hostname

    Per SEPM Help topic

    Table: Searching for computers options

    Option

    Description

    Find

Searches for client computers based on whether the client is in computer mode or user mode.

In Group displays the group that you selected in the Clients tree view.

    Search Criteria

Displays a list of attributes about the client, client computer, or user. To see the available list, you can click in the empty cell under Search Field. You can select the search criterion you want to use from the drop-down menu.

    Comparison Operator

Displays a list of operators. You can click the empty cell under Comparison Operator, and then select one of the following operators from the drop-down menu:

    • = (equal to)

    • != (not equal to)

    • > (greater than)

    • < (less than)

    • >= (greater than or equal to)

    • <= (less than or equal to)

    • LIKE

Places a wildcard "%"character at both the beginning or the end of the string you typed. The query then locates any strings that begin with, end with, or contain the value you typed.

    Value

Enables you to enter a new value or select a predefined value. You can click the empty cell under Value to enter a string to search on. The search criterion you selected in the Search Field column determines the value that you should type. Strings are not case sensitive. You can use the LIKE operator to match a partial entry, as explained for Comparison Operator.

    Export

Saves the contents of the query in a text file.
