Patch Management Solution

We have a sizable amount of VMs being managed and patched by SMP (currently 7.1).  To avoid resource storms in our virtual environments we've split out the assessment scans and software updated policies into groups to stagger them.  However, it doesn't look like you can clone the 'Windows Patch Remediation Settings' to do the same thing and we are seeing a resource spike that matches this schedule.  Is there a way to avoid this and spread the load?

As that Policy is updating collections on the NS itself it wouldn't make sense to split it - it still has to enumerate all the Patch Polices and collections on the NS.

Thanks Andy.  I misunderstood what that policy is doing; it's scheduling the 'NS.Windows Patch Remediation Settings' in the task scheduler.  Kinda makes sense once you look at it; it was the target part that threw me off and let me to think it was doing something on the client.

Inventory is the other thing you'll want to spread out too, there's a randomisation option in one of the advanced options.
