  • 1.  Need minimum requirement for SEPM server migration

    Hello Team,

     

    can anyone provide me the minimum requirements for SEPM migration.

    as we are going to migrate our SEPM server from win 03 to win 07/08.

    present SEPM version in win 03 is 12.1.4013.

    Also provide me the plan for SEPM server migration

    please let me know for more info.

    can i get a SEPM server migration plan for Win 03 to Windows Server 2012 R2.

    also what are the things that we need to be aware of before proceding with the migration.

    Yes you can move windows 2003 to server 2012

    Move Endpoint Protection Manager to another server without breaking client communications or losing data

    Hi,

    Thank you for posting in Symantec community.

    I would be glad to answer your query.

    There are multiple scenarios as listed below which we should consider while moving SEPM from one server to another server.

    1) If the SEPM server keeps the same IP and host name, you can refer to "Best Practices for Disaster Recovery with the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager"

    2) SEPM server has a different IP and same hostname OR SEPM server has a same IP and different hosname.

    3) SEPM server has a differenet IP and different hostaname.

    Also, make sure you start with 12.1.5 as it is th elatest version of SEP.

    Either perform replication or follow disaster recovery method & Create a new MSL as per guidelines.
