  • 1.  Network Connectivity Issues after SEP removal

    Posted Dec 04, 2010 04:14 AM

Hello, I have a PC that was running SEP which I had to change to NIS. I had a lot of trouble removing SEP in order to install NIS. Once I finally had SEP removed, it seemed as if my network connections were no longer active. I went ahead and installed NIS but still the same issue. I used http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH102261&locale=en_US

when removing SEP since nothing else worked (the NIS install would keep failing).

If you need any other information, please let me know, and I will provide it. I would rather not reformat if I can. Thanks for any assistance you can provide.

    Try reinstalling NIC drivers.

Go into Device Manager and remove the NIC. Reboot and the OS will automatically recognize the NIC and re-install. Your connection should then be working fine.

Reformattin the machine is not necessary here, no worries ;) If reinstalling NIC does not help contact Tech Support and ask for CleanWipe that is supposed to remove SEP software and the drivers.

    Good luck!

If need be, give Tech Support a call.  There are a number of small tools that they can provide which will remove SEP Teefer driver remnants from your network card configuration.

    Thanks and best regards,
