  • 1.  Network Drives fail to mount after WSUS

    Posted Jul 05, 2007 07:52 PM
I had a working network bootdisk....

After a WSUS update (I think 935840 - one of the most recent updates).

I now have the problem that the bootdisk wont map network drives. Our konica minolta photocopiers also can no longer scan to the network.

I know the problem is most likely digital signing and SMB authentication. Can't get it to work.....

    Running Server 2003.

    Hi,

Yes, I think you are correct, the most likely situation is not accepting NTLM but only supporting NTLM2.

I do not think there are DOS drivers that support NTLM2, the best option is to use Ghost32 with WinPE. In case if you haven't used Ghost32 so far - It has the same interface as DOS Ghost, and images are fully compatible.

However, your photocopier would be still a problem unless you change the security settings...

Is there a way to fix this by altering domain/domain controller security settings??

The photocopier supports NTLM2 BUT still errors - "server connect error"

I can map network drives and scan to another machine as long as it doesn't have KB935840 installed.

    HELP :(

    Hi,

This update seems to implement SSL/TSL. It may use some kind of Web related protocols. Probably the vendor has some kind of an update?
