  • 1.  Newly Deployed 7 Agent - What filter needs to be updated to expedite the installation process

    In order for a new agent to be recognized and to start receiving policies, the NS server needs to run a Delta Resource Membership Update.  Once this process runs, the filters necessary to give the agent its first policy will be poluated.  Once the agent does a configuration update, the new policy comes down and sub agent installs begin. 

    What Filter is updated that facilitates this process.  We would like to expedite this process by telling the NS to refresh specific sets of filters more often (say every half hour) ...  We are a large shop with about 15K records per Tier 2 NS.  We cannot change the actual Delta Resource Membership update more often simply due to the impact it puts on other tasks.    I thought this was the "All Computers" filter, but this is not the case.  It is looking more and more like it is a hidden filter?

    Anybody have any ideas?

    Hi Joel,

    Well I'm still in the NS6 world, so not sure where those pesky hidden filters are...but once you find them, you should be able to follow the instructions in HOWTO21573 to customize the refresh schedules for those filters more aggressively.

    Yes, Update Filter Membership is exactly what I am using, unfortunately I still need the name of the key filter.
