A client has Symantec DLP and needs to protect sensitive information within images.  A few of my other clients use a solution which has OCR for data in motion and data at rest which is very good (GTB Technologies - https://gttb.com/data-loss-prevention/core-dlp-technology/

Anyone know if Symantec DLP detects data within scanned images?

    Thank you

    Hi Infogal,

Symantec DLP doesn't have yet that functionality. However, I am quite sure have seen in a Symantec presentation saying that they plan to add it in future releases.

Symantec does not have OCR capability natively but can integrate with a number of OCR technologies such as ABBY without issue. As Morgado pointed out earlier, native OCR is on our future product roadmap. Additionlaly in the next DLP release comming out next month, DLP 14.5, we are introducing a Form Matching technology that solves a good number of OCR like use cases.
